With over 190 attendees from the Uniting, Lutheran and Anglican churches of Queensland, Elevation 2018 was a raging success. Blue skies and sunshine heralded in a brilliant day of networking, learning, encouragement, and community as participants travelled from all over Queensland. The morning kicked off with a brilliant opening keynote by Andy Gourley, founder and CEO of the Red Frogs Australia Chaplaincy Network. Andy set the tone for the day with his engaging storytelling and rousing call to serve in leadership:
“If you want to win something, you have to serve: If you want to win a generation, you have to serve a generation; if you want to win a school, you have to serve a school.” (Andy Gourley)

Dan Warlow also lead inspiring and active worship to both open and close the day. Feedback across the board highlighted the diverse range of electives and engaging facilitators, with electives covering mental health, engaging children with the Bible, leadership, faith formation and stacks more.

We are so excited to have been able to host another training day to help equip incredible people within our church. We are excited to see what amazing things these individuals do in our church after being inspired by our facilitators.
Here’s what some of the attendees had to say about Elevation 2018:
“I really enjoyed the sessions that had practical applications and useful tips to add to my expertise toolbox.”
“My highlight was learning more about how to lead effectively and to have some tools under my belt that I can now implement in my relationships with my youth group.”
“Each elective session was different but equally important and informative and thought-provoking, giving plenty to go away with.”

Thank you to all of the facilitators and presenters who made Elevation 2018 such a success, a special thank you also to Andy Gourley and Dan Warlow, and thank you to all of the people who worked behind the scenes preparing food and coffee. And finally, thank YOU to everyone who travelled from near and far to attend Elevation 2018, it was a great joy to see so many people from so many different churches come together.
